| | Back in Toledo. I was sad to leave Hawai'i. We were on W'aikiki beach the first few days, spent a day in honolulu, then went to to Turtle Bay resort near the North Shore. It was so much more beautiful over there ecause it was more natural, more a town than a city. The snorkeling opportunities upriver from Wa'imea Bay were great, i saw schools of fishes and a few turtles!!! My sister is so fun to be with because she is a water baby when she saw a turle she screamed in delight underwater, and when she saw a pretty fish she made the gimme gimme hands and chased it. We kayaked under trees and saw a man with a fish trap in his backyard like how cool is that, free dinner every night. we passed by this low branched tree that mercedes paddled under that had a knotted rope, so what did my can't turn down a dare self do but jumped out, swam to it, and tried to climb it. no such luck, i made it up three knots then slipped as i saw my kayak floating !! mercedes laughing the whole time. it was paradise.
one morning i was doing beledy stretches on the beach while mercedes was snorkeling, and you can't hear people walk on sand. so my eyes were closed, i'm all in deep relaxation and stuff, and i open my eyes and she was in front of me! lol she said she'd been there bout five minutes behind me copying my stretches and then doing Turbo Jam lol lol lol waiting for me to notice.
we went to a luau. or a vegas version of one. it was cheesy, like there were a lot of double entendre jokes, the onnouncer kept doing shout outs to the various married/single/anniversary/divorced/athletic people in the crowd. then he finally shut up so the dancers could perform and THAT was spectacular. the men did this rite of passage type dance reminiscent of a step show then both the men and women performed a hula that was just SPELLBINDING. i mean i bellydance and whatever but hula is like exponential beledy lol
today i go to tony's house for a barbecue a lot of people are in town because of the convention. i'm bout to take care of some paperwork for some other stuff right now though so love peace and everything else.
{Hawai'i was a spritual experience to me, i mean, how can you see such beauty and not believe in God? how can you fly over an ocean dotted by whites waves, with the cloudless blue sky portraying daytime and the sea nighttime, almost as if the waves were stars , and not believe in God? See coral reefs and anemonees(sp) and sea urchins and be overwhelmed that something so beautiful was so sensitive that if you touched it it would die? almost like the inverse of the Tree of Life. wonder how Eve would have felt if she ate the fruit and the TREE whithered before her eyes as soon as she touched it.} |
